About John

John was born and raised in Waco, TX. After his dad passed away at an early age, John was comforted and supported by his pastor, and he now views this moment as what made him want to be a pastor himself. John received his bachelor's in Psychology from Baylor University, his Master's of Divinity from Southwestern Theological Seminary, and his Doctorate in Ministry from Baylor's Truett Seminary. He has been husband to Lisa since 1988, and they have one daughter, Ashley, and one granddaughter, Collins. You can find John watching Star Trek or the Texas Rangers, at a school board meeting, cheering on the West Trojans, or with Ashley and her husband and Collins. He will likely have a drink from Starbucks or a Dr. Pepper at any of these engagements.
