We are building a home for the family, a lighthouse for the lost, and a legacy for the next generation.
After 150 years at 501 N Marable, God is calling FBC West into a new chapter. This is not just a building project — it is a bold act of faith for the future of our church and our community.

A home for the family
Our growing church family needs space to gather, worship, learn, and do life together. The new facility will be designed with every generation in mind — from the nursery to the senior adult ministry.
A lighthouse for the lost
We are not just building for the people already here. We are building for the people who have not yet found a church home. A visible, accessible, welcoming facility is itself an act of mission.
A legacy for generations
The families who founded this church built something that blessed us for over a century. We now have the opportunity to do the same for the next generation. That is a privilege we take seriously.
"We are not just raising money for a building. We are investing in the next generation of families who will find faith, community, and purpose here."— Pastor John Crowder
Our goal for 2026: $2,000,000
We are asking our church family to participate at whatever level God leads. Gifts can be one-time or pledged over a multi-year period. Every person has a role in this — our prayers, our presence, and our resources.
Giving to the relocation campaign is separate from your regular tithe and offering. Both matter. Both are acts of worship.

Vision and planning
The Needs Assessment Committee was formed and met for almost a year, researching our needs, meeting with consultants, touring other facilities, studying demographics, and dreaming together.
Campaign launch
Public introduction of the Moving Forward campaign, congregation-wide vision presentation, relocation committees formed.
Property and fundraising
Property evaluation and selection, active fundraising phase, architectural planning begins as funding allows.
Design and permitting
Architect selection, design development, permitting process, and construction bid process.
Construction and move
Phase one: we will build a multipurpose facility and move in. Phase two: we will raise the funds necessary and build a new worship center. God willing, we will walk through those doors together.
Why do we need to relocate instead of expand?
We are completely landlocked at our current location with no adjacent land available for purchase. Further expansion in our current location would not meet our future needs and would be a burden on our neighbors.
Have you already purchased a piece of property?
Not yet. The property evaluation process is currently underway. The building committee is reviewing several potential sites and will bring their recommendation to the congregation in a business meeting on May 17 at 9:00 a.m.
Will we sell our current building?
That decision has not been made yet and will be brought before the church membership at the appropriate time. We are committed to full congregational involvement in major decisions like this one.
How is the campaign giving different from my regular tithe?
Your tithe and regular offering fund the ongoing ministry of the church. The relocation campaign is a separate, above-and-beyond commitment specifically for the building project.
Can I pledge an amount over multiple years?
Yes. Many families find it helpful to make a multi-year pledge — for example, giving a set amount each month for three years. That allows more people to participate at a meaningful level without financial strain.
How will I be kept informed of progress?
We will provide regular updates through Sunday announcements, this webpage, our church email list, and periodic town hall meetings. Transparency is a commitment we are making to our church family.
For the right property
Pray that God would clearly direct our committee to the right location — one that positions FBC West to reach our community for generations.
For generous hearts
Pray that every family would seek God first before deciding how to participate, and that giving would flow from faith rather than obligation.
For unity
Pray that this process would draw our church family closer together, and that every voice would feel heard and valued throughout.
For the committees
Pray for wisdom, discernment, and integrity for the men and women serving on the Building and Funding Committees.
For the funds to come in
Pray boldly that God would supply every dollar needed — through our congregation and through His provision in ways we cannot yet see.
For the future church
Pray for the families who will walk through the doors of our new facility one day — people who do not yet know us, and do not yet know Christ.
Ready to be part of this?
We are not asking anyone to give beyond their faith. We are asking everyone to give from it. Every prayer, every dollar, and every act of faithfulness matters.
