ChiliFest & Chili Cook Off

There is something about a pot of chili that brings people together. On Sunday, November 8, FBC West is hosting our first community-wide ChiliFest and Chili Cook Off in the Fellowship Hall, with chili available from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Everyone in West is invited.
Ways to Join In
- Grab a meal: Meal tickets are $15 for adults and $5 for kids under 12. The menu includes chili, cornbread, Frito pie, hot dogs, drinks, and dessert, with a toppings bar of cheese, onions, jalapeños, and sour cream. Dine in and visit awhile, or take it to go.
- Pre-order chili to take home: $10 a quart. It's a good way to take care of a busy weeknight supper or bless a neighbor who could use a warm meal. Pre-order with the button on this page.
- Enter the Chili Cook Off: The entry fee is $10, and everyone is welcome. Bring your family recipe, your secret ingredient, or the pot you've been perfecting for years. Sign up with the button on this page.
- Be a judge with a Chili Passport: For $5 with the purchase of a meal, sample every cook off entry and vote for your favorite. Somebody is going home with bragging rights, and you'll help decide who.
Why Chili at 9:00 in the Morning?
The Life Group hosting the event will be ready to sell chili as soon as each worship service lets out. Our first service ends at 9:00, so you can pick up your chili on the way to the car and have lunch taken care of before you get home. Second service folks can do the same, or stay and enjoy a meal with us.
Something for Everyone
Along with the food, there will be a mini live auction, a silent auction, raffles, a 50/50 raffle, and other fun events throughout the day. Bring the whole family, invite your neighbors, and plan to stay a while. If you have a new or unused item to donate for the auction, stop by the information table after either service.
Why We're Doing This
All proceeds from ChiliFest go to our Building Fund. God has been growing this church family for a long time, and we've outgrown the space we have. Through our Moving Forward campaign, we are building “a home for the family, a lighthouse for the lost, and a legacy for the next generation.” Every bowl, every passport, and every raffle ticket helps. More than raising money, we want this to be a day when our church and our community share a table.
